EMILIA ROMAGNA
DAY 1: Arrival at Bologna Airport. Check-in hotel. Welcome dinner.
DAY 2: Start the day with an escorted walking tour of the city enriched by a private street food tour. An expert guide will attend you during your travel into the tradition of the crescent to Beccari’s sausage to sample the history of mortadella – all accompanied by a glass of Sangiovese wine. For the crowning glory, you’ll finish up at the city’s most famous chocolate maker and place where solid chocolate was invented. Leisure time in the afternoon.
DAY 3: A full guided tour of an Italian “acetaia” and a tasting of balsamic vinegars with Parmigiano cheese and Lambrusco wine. During the lunch you will have the opportunity to taste traditional Emilian foods. Leisure time in the afternoon.
DAY 4: In the morning free time to pass as you prefer. Spend the afternoon in Parma where you’ll discover the first of the region’s tasty exports: Prosciutto di Parma. Head to Bedogni Egidio, where you can sample authentic meats and learn some of the secrets that make this family business a firm favourite before a cookery lesson with one of the best chefs in the region, learning how to create a true Italian dish of hand-rolled pasta served with Parma’s finest prosciutto. Savouring the flavour on your lips, be sure to also check out the city’s many markets, beautiful palaces, squares and monuments before stopping off at a local tavern for a dinner of traditional fare.
DAY 5: Cooking class of a typical menù of Emilia Romagna region. Under the guidance of the chef you will learn how to knead, cut, roll and fill the famous “Tortellini”, and other typical recipes of the area.
DAY 6: Start the transfer to Venice.
VENICE
DAY 6: On the way, you can stop for a visit of Verona, the city of Romeo and Juliet. Verona’s surviving architecture and urban structure reflects the evolution of this fortified town over its 2,000-year history. Or enjoy a Wine Tasting Tour along the wine routes of Valpolicella with its famous Amarone wine on the picturesque hills round Lake Garda. After reaching Venice where water taxis will take you to the hotel.
DAY 7: Sightseeing walking tour of Venice going from Saint Mark Square with the external visit of the famous bell tower and the Basilica, the exterior of the Doge’s palace and then continue to the inner streets of the lagoon town called “Calle”. You can pass externally the famous Teatro La Fenice, continue towards the Scala of Bovolo, to reach one of the icons of the city, “The Rialto Bridge”, which crosses the Grand Canal. In the afternoon free time to spend how you prefer. End the day with a typical Venetian “Bacaro Tour“, a ramble around the most famous “Bacari”, tasting wine, or spritz, and eating “cicheti”.
DAY 8: Guided tour in a typical factory of local products and final tasting experience of it (the type of product it depends from the period, for example from November to March you can have a guided visit to a local farm that produces the Radicchio Rosso di Treviso IGP, a unique variety of red chicory very special produced only in a restricted area between Venice and Treviso). Lunch in a local restaurant and leisure time in the afternoon.
DAY 9: You will have free time to spend how you prefer, in the afternoon your private bus will take you to a Prosecco wine tour, with final tasting experience and farewell dinner.
DAY 10: Departure from Venice Marco Polo.
